In the early hours of 21 August 2025, a man identified as Mfana Ngwenya allegedly murdered his girlfriend at a local tavern known as “Dubai” in Maubane.
- Disturbingly, he reportedly filmed the victim lifeless and covered in blood while uttering curses, before posting the video on his Facebook account. The video was later deleted.u
