JOHANNESBURG – Authorities have achieved a significant milestone in combating illegal firearms, having confiscated 30 unregistered 9mm pistols concealed in the trunk of a Mercedes-Benz on Monday, July 28, 2025.
The firearms were reportedly destined for the Western Cape. Two individuals were apprehended at the location. This operation is part of a larger initiative, with the South African Police Service (SAPS) reporting the recovery of 170 unlicensed firearms across the country in the past week.
