**GA-SEKGOPO** – Appreciate Makhubele, a 30-year-old suspect, appeared today, July 24, 2025, in the Modjadjiskloof Magistrate’s Court facing murder charges linked to the death of a young man who was allegedly assaulted at his rehabilitation camp.
The court has adjourned the case until July 31, 2025, for a formal bail hearing. As stated by the Limpopo NPA, the victim and his brother were sent to Makhubele’s camp by their mother. Reports indicate that the deceased was beaten with a chain and pipe, isolated despite having visible injuries, and was unable to walk or bathe independently.
After being returned home, the victim was hospitalized on July 10 and passed away two days later. A post-mortem conducted on July 18 revealed severe injuries, leading to Makhubele’s arrest on July 22 following an earlier inquest.
