A manager of a rehabilitation center has been apprehended in connection with the fatal assault of a patient. The victim, a 29-year-old man, passed away in a hospital in Limpopo after being subjected to brutal beatings during his eight-day stay at the facility. The center’s proprietor, aged 30, was taken into custody, as stated by police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba. The patient was picked up from his residence in Ga-Sekgopo village on July 2 and transported to the center within the Modjadjiskloof policing jurisdiction. Reports indicated that he was physically attacked, confined in isolation, and faced difficulties in mobility and personal hygiene. On July 10, he was returned to his home and promptly rushed to Mankweng hospital due to his deteriorating health condition. Upon admission to the medical facility, his critical state led to his demise on July 14. A post-mortem examination conducted by a pathologist confirmed the extent of his severe injuries. The owner of the rehabilitation center was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of murder and is scheduled to appear in the Modjadjiskloof district court on Thursday.
