Minister Senzo Mchunu’s career is precariously close to ending as his situation intensifies.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to announce Mchunu’s suspension later today. This decision comes in light of allegations from KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, which implicate Mchunu in various criminal activities. Mchunu was also prevented from boarding a state-funded flight intended for government officials attending the funeral of the late former Deputy President David Mabuza.
Ramaphosa is set to inform the nation about his decisions concerning the allegations against Mchunu and whether he will continue in his role as Police Minister. The President’s announcement will be broadcast tonight at 19:00.
