Freshly crowned Betway Premiership titleholders, Mamelodi Sundowns, have unveiled a new collaboration with the Chinese automotive manufacturer, Chery.
A combined announcement from Sundowns and Chery detailed that the agreement will see Chery supplying the team with a selection of SUVs, “guaranteeing they arrive comfortably and with flair at games, club functions, and outreach initiatives.”
Chery South Africa expressed its enthusiasm to serve as the Official Vehicle Partner of Mamelodi Sundowns, a celebrated and widely-admired football club in South Africa. Revered as ‘The Brazilians’ for their attacking gameplay and distinctive yellow uniforms, Sundowns boast a storied legacy stretching back over five decades. The club dominates both domestically and continentally, holding a record number of league championships, a host of national trophies, and victories in the CAF Champions League and African Football League.
“As part of this stimulating partnership, Chery will provide the team with a fleet of SUVs, guaranteeing they travel comfortably and with flair to matches, club functions, and outreach initiatives. This alliance feels perfectly aligned, uniting two top-tier brands recognized for their pursuit of quality,” the statement continued.
Sundowns’ chairman, Tlhopie Motsepe, expressed his approval of the new venture.
