As families honored mothers across the nation, grieving June Steenkamp – Reeva Steenkamp’s mother – declared her determination to see Oscar Pistorius returned to prison, where she believes he should remain.
A decade and a half ago, the radiant model was fatally shot by her partner, Oscar Pistorius, within his Pretoria residence, purportedly after he misidentified her as an intruder. Just one year prior, Pistorius secured his release on parole, having completed half of his prison term for the murder conviction.
Adding to her sorrow, June also mourned the unexpected passing of her husband, Barry Steenkamp, in 2023, and has now asserted that Pistorius is to blame for his demise, a claim she intends to substantiate.
