Three police officers mysteriously vanished while travelling from Free State to Limpopo

Published:

Three South African Police Service officers – Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys, and Boipelo Senoge – disappeared while en route from Bloemfontein to their assignment in Limpopo.

Authorities are requesting public assistance in locating the three constables, who vanished under puzzling circumstances during their travel to Limpopo province. SAPS national spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed the missing individuals consist of two women and one man.

“The group, comprising two women and a male – 24-year-old Constable Linda, 30-year-old Constable Buys, and 20-year-old Constable Senoge – were heading to Limpopo in a white Volkswagen Polo sedan when they were reported missing,” Mathe stated.

The last verified sighting of the trio was at an Engen gas station, close to the Grasmere toll plaza on the N1 highway, on Wednesday.
“The vehicle’s tracking system and their mobile phones have been inactive since their disappearance,” Mathe added.

The officers were traveling in a VW Polo with license plate JCL 401 FS.

“A dedicated 24-hour operational hub has been set up, and a comprehensive search is underway. A specialized team of detectives and crime intelligence specialists from Gauteng and the Free State have been deployed to find them,” Mathe explained.
The officers were off-duty and failed to reach their designated area in Limpopo.

“Individuals with any information regarding their location are urged to contact investigating officer, Captain Chaacha Manga, at 082 527 6099,” the police requested.
SAPS is currently investigating a potential case involving hijacking and kidnapping.
National police commissioner, General Fannie Masemola has appealed to the public for support in locating the missing officers.

Separately, the African Media and Communicators Forum continues to search for Pretoria-based journalist Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli.
Elijah Mhlanga, Chairperson of the African Media and Communicators Forum, noted that Ndlovu and Mdhluli have been missing since February 18.

The National Press Club and the African Media and Communicators Forum have jointly offered a R50, 000 reward for information leading to a resolution.

“This initiative aims to aid the ongoing police investigation into the mysterious disappearance of the couple. The families of Ndlovu and Mdhluli are also pleading for any leads regarding their whereabouts,” Mhlanga concluded.
